Most nail technicians refer to it as the 'sticky layer' and often rub it into the skin, but it's crucial to know how to remove the inhibition layer properly. The inhibition layer is a thin layer of uncured gel that remains on the nail surface due to exposure to air. Removing this layer is essential to prevent skin reactions and allergies. Gel products should never come in contact with the skin as they can pose allergy risks. To remove the inhibition layer correctly, use gel cleanser on a nail sponge and wipe it down the nail in one swipe. Here are two tips: 1. Use a disposable nail sponge instead of a lint-free wipe to save product and money. 2. Rotate the sponge to a clean part for each nail to avoid transferring uncured gel. Follow these steps: 1. Apply gel cleanser to the nail sponge. 2. Cover the nail with the sponge for a few seconds. 3. Wipe the sponge down the nail and across the free edge. 4. Rotate the sponge for each nail.
